Red face Helpppp Code P0171

I have a 2007 Infiniti g35 X , for the last two weeks my car has been hesitating between 1000-2000 RPMS.. Other than that the car drives good. Yesterday my service engine light came on with a code of P0171 .. I want to just replace the MAFS but I'm not sure if that's actually it .. :frown: (My O2 sensors and cat have been recently replaced) I have an extended warranty with Allstate but the last time I used it I paid 800 out of pocket so I'm looking to do it on my own . Thank youuuu

You have most of your answers already... p0171 means that you are running lean... electrically, it can mean MAF sensors or o2 sensors... mechanically it can mean your catalytic converters or as simple and fuel starvation due to weak fuel pump or dirty, plugged fuel filters... what kind of gas do you pump? And what brand?

I got the car back in August , since it's been I've had it I only put 93 usually from Mobil .. I'm just not sure it's the MAFS just case I've read if it's the MAFS it's usually two codes

Unplug your mafs and start your car... does it get worse? If not, than that may be the issue

This code comes up very frequently on fords and is almost always a dirty MAF sensor.

Mobile, 76, Chevron and Shell are all top tier gas stations. They should all be of very similar quality.

Yep, the ol' F-250 pops one up every once in a while, but a quick squirt of CRC maf cleaner and she's good to go.

Mobile doesn't put enogh detergent in there gasoline. That's probable why everything is all fouled up and your throwing codes

But they have to to be considered top tier. Top tier is a 3rd party designation.
