93 Super gas from sheetz

In the manual it says the car recommendation is premium but if I use the 93 Super gas from sheetz, will it effect my car in any way?

Are you trolling the California boys, because they can't get 93 out there?

91 vs 93 will make zero difference, except you will pay acouple dollars extra at each fillup.

Sheetz is coming into NC in a big way. Their angle is to upscale and expand the convenience side. Mostly the food: staffed food center, hot sandwiches, fresh stuff. Big bright red canopy, clean graphics and facility. Of course the new model is all new, we'll see how the concept wears over time. But right now they are nice.

LOL! G2B likes this. Although I'm sure this is the first time anyone ever came up with a line like this.

Out in CA we get some nasty 91 with 15% ethanol mix. Makes me cry for the G just thinking about all that gunk in the engine. Your G will thank you in 100K miles for 93 octane.

Theres this 76 station that just opened up near me and he is a good $.30 cheaper for premium than the Shell across the street and most gas stations in town. It's always full and there is literally nobody at the Shell, I don't know how he does it.

Yeah i live and travel in 4 Southeastern States....our 93 generally costs 40 cents more a gallon. Especially if you use Shell or BP (which used to be Amoco with that "white" highest octane gas - that back in the day my grandfather said he much preferred) or Chevron. (Chevron by the way has nearly disappeared in the areas i travel in) I mention my grandfather because he was a brilliant Engineer/Mathematician who truly was a genius ergo i think there MAY have been something special about the Amoco/American (Standard of Indiana i believe?) "Hi Test"

Having said all of that...i have used premium in my 2008 G35 for 143k of the 193k of its life. I strongly suspect the one previous owner did too since i have ALL of his service records including gas purchases!! (dollar amounts and gallons) prior to my owning it. I get 29 mpg when i do 65mph on the highway. I get 25 when i do 77mph on the highway to this day...Around town i get 18 or when i "play" around 15...
Since the owners manual SAID for me to use premium i did not question it. And i usually QUESTION EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE...But again my grandfather told me that CERTAIN engines required certain levels of combustion integrity to perform at design efficiencies. He said it - I believed it - that settled it. Although he has been gone from here 50 years - i never forgot things he taught me. ALL HAVE TURNED OUT TO BE TRUE and have helped me immeasurably in life...So i am not upset that my fill ups cost me on average 7 to 8 dollars more. And for me that is a lot due to the fact i put a lot more miles on my G than nearly EVERYONE on this forum...I don't worry about what others say about anything i do anyway...never have....I try VERY HARD to use common sense when i can (although that is a strain for me do to my brain's orientation!) and it is logical (to me) that i use the best gas i can purchase, the best lubricants and fluids i can purchase, the best parts for my intended use i can purchase, the best cleaners and polishes i can purchase for my G. Go back and read my other posts if you are curious as to how well this car has held up for me and my family. Put me in the crowd who uses Premium exclusively...
