G35 Journey, stalls, stumbles, slip, SES, ABS lights on

I have the following symptoms with my '07 G35 Journey with the HR engine.

Wife started car yesterday morning and said it barely started. Tach was below 1000 rpm and fluctuating wildly. Slip, CEL, ABS, pretty much all lights were on.

Later I start the car and it starts normally. Take it for a drive (was going to Autozone to see if there are any pending codes) and after pulling into heavy traffic it starts bucking, slip, VDC, CEL, ABS, Brake lights are all on. Speedo drops to 0 at one point even though we are going 20mph. Initially after startup it would rev normally. At this point, after the stumbling occurred, it would barely make 3000 rpm. Searching I've done appears to lead to the Crank sensor or one/both cam sensors. I'm going to get it to a service shop tomorrow morning (hopefully), but thought I'd post here to see if anyone has other ideas.

I purchased a scanner this morning but found out the battery died overnight (I may have left it on after rolling up the windows due to it raining) so I'm charging the battery then will test with the scanner.

Update: shop diagnosis is the alternator output is fluctuating so they are replacing it tomorrow. We'll see if this fixes it.

Heard from shop this morning. They replaced the alternator, yet couldn't start the car. They found the battery was at 5vdc, same as I saw yesterday morning. Wife took batt to Autozone for warranty replacement and they are charging/testing it now. This battery tested good by AAA battery service, but I wondered about it since voltage was only 12.3 when I looked at it. Wonder if the battery took out the alternator or vice versa. Shop did put one of their batteries in for testing and says the car is running good.

Got the car back after autozone charged the battery and everything seems good. Car actually feels better from a stop and not so touchy. Battery voltage is 12.85vdc, up from 12.3 previously.

Update. Car is running normally for last two weeks so I'd say alternator did the trick.

I'm having similar issues, how many miles did you have on the car? My wife only has 37k on hers.

Thanks,

Rick
