Short driving vs. long driving
Obvious around town and a 2 hour drive my car can take it no problem. But overtime i come to vegas my car has to act out. 1st my oil filter exploded 98 miles away from vegas. then 2 years later i decided to take my car again. filled up gas and car won't start. called the dealers and they say i could need a new break switch. Car needs to be towed. Well, waited 40 minutes and the car starts up again. Now that i am in vegas my engine light came on. p0507. Idle air control system RPM higher then expected. I live in LA and make a few drive stops to SD. But to another state, why does my car act out? Anyone else having these issues from short vs long distant driving?

Front and rear cameras, tire pressure for all four tires can display on screen, folding side view mir
Interesting!
When you say the oil filter exploded, was the filter not tightened properly allowing the rubber seal to leak oil under pressure?
Or did the metal oil filter leak from being hit by road debris?
What brand oil filter was it that failed & who performed the last oil change and filter replacement?
Many years ago I had a Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel and after doing an oil change and replacing the oil filter with a Fram filter the rubber seal leaked immediately upon start-up even though it was properly tightened. (Hand tight plus another 1/8 to 1/4 turn with a wrench).
I never used a Fram filter on that vehicle again although I have used that brand on other vehicles

I don't remember the brand but it was the wrong oil filter that stillen recommends for the supercharger. The dealership just put the next best thing and thought it was good enough. On the way to vegas, i decided to push the car and had it around 6PSI and BOOM! Pulled over and lots of oil was just dripping from the car.
