Buy the cheapest SAE 5w-30 and change it every 3500 to 4000 miles

Photo taken back when I had my 06 G35 6 speed when I did 48 out of the 53 oil changes till i traded it in at 171796 miles for my present 2012 G37S

Thanks Telcoman, I just didn't know of them HR's are oil sensitive or what not because this is my first Hr and I've heard some people are using Castrol Edge and nothing else with Pureone filter or WIX and others use Mobil 1 with the said filters!

They did! The six times that I did not

On my present vehicle the dealer has changed the oil 21 times and I am due for the 22nd probably next week. I no longer feel like crawling under the vehicle.
Many posts about hating the dealership.
Having a relationship with the dealer ie head mechanic, service, manager, parts manager, general manager very often pays off in the long run whether a problem or just questions.
Most dealers want satisfied customers.

Everyone has opinions, they're like...well you know everyone has one! Often "Young kids get their opinions from someone they respect or from Dad! Bottom line, if you use quality filters and synthetic fluids and change it frequently what you drive will last a long time without issues!

Mostly agree but expensive synthetic oils & non OEM filters are not necessary if oil is changed every 4k miles. I think the Nissan engineers have for the most part have chosen quality OEM parts for their vehicles. Cheaper parts can always be found made in China or elsewhere but I'm not about to risk my vehicle by using them.

Well our Nissan ones are made in Japan, not too far from mainland China!

Nissan makes a great filter.

08 G35X sedan here, last two oil fillups have been mobile 1 full synthetic for around $25 from walmart. Dealer changed for another $20+. before that it was whatever dealer placed with coupon. Don't feel a diff but hey, always better running with better products

Run a good quality brand oil filter and oil like it sounds like you are op

Hearing this advice from the guy doing the bare minimum "cheap oil, cheap convenience store regular gas" is just a joke now.
I guess next we'll hear

"Yeah I run triangle tires and they're just great nobody needs to use michelins etc"
