My how this place has changed

I got kind of spoiled with forums before I came here. My motorcycle forums I am part of have so much information on them you cant go a visit without learning something. The guys on those forums can break down everything about a bike, how it works, electronics, suspension geometry... very seldom does a question go unanswered. IMHO its hard to come across a car forum that can even compare, so its not just G35Driver that lacks good info.
There is still some good info here though, and plenty of entertainment for when youre bored at work. I just got a tin of Coconut Rain popcorn from one of those church bible school sales things from a coworker so I'll prolly be looking for troll threads to laugh at today

I don't think you can compare MC forums to this type of car forum. MC folks are usually VERY into their bikes, they work on them a lot, they mod them, the know them inside and out.
Here, IMHO, there are a bunch of "appliance operators" as we say in the Ham Radio world.

Ham radio... I went to one of those classes for the Army and got my license or whatever its called. Couldnt tell you what it is anymore. I sat in that class like ... wow these guys are nerds. Cool stuff they could do, but talk about social akward guys with a hard on for radios.

Very true, many college students and people looking to buy a G as their first car.
I will say this, there are so many good technical articles on here that I love. I can usually find what I need rather quickly, so there is rarely ever a reason to create a new thread. A lot of topics have been covered and most all of the common issues have pretty much been discovered.
I love the that there are no lack of trolls whenever someone creates a new thread asking a common question. I feel like there are more responses asking the OP to use the search function than actually trying to help.

I can show you every part of my motorcycle from it sitting on the custom center stand I built. Bikes are very simple, which makes them amazing tuner machines... No better connection to the road between man and asphalt.
You have to know what's going on mechanically also because it isn't uncommon to "break down" and quick fix a hose or pour some water into your cooling system. The turbo piping is only around an inch thick on the most difficult Hayabusa builds we see . A car is always a better choice for he who wish not deal with problems though .

People have moved onto social media forums like FB. They do have a G35Driver forum on facebook. Due to the convenience of it. Only downside is that you cant really search on the FB forums so you constantly see repeated posts about "what's a good intake/exhaust?", what mods will get me the most Hp. Same old stuff. People do get butt hurt when you tell em to google it to go here to search for it. The site used to be pretty busy but now it is mostly F/S threads. On the plus side. The NWP has shown good gains combined with a 3.5" Furookie intake. If Kinetix Velocity is added then it brings god results with a tune. Ask JuicinJake(think thats his username here), he has experimented with the VQ for so long, and he has first hand experience on this. I already bought the furookie 3.5" intake, 75mm TB, Kinetix velocity. Just gotta install it. Will keep you guys updated if i see this thread in the future.

This site has been on a downhill slide for a long time... I understand the cars are getting old and people moving on/up, but I still love my boosted 06, 6MT.
By the way Texasscout I still battle richening AFR's to this day. Lol!
Sad to say, but I gave up on this site as well.... Only check in ever so often following a notification to see if I can lend a hand.

All I know is that I miss the shenanigans we used to have in the NorCal & FlorCal sections. NorCal had less than 200 posts in the entirety of 2014 vs previous years where we'd get that many posts in a couple hours or days. <le sigh>
But it is a sign of the times. People get older, change out their cars, etc. Plus as the price of our cars has plummeted, more and more immature kids are being able to afford them, which has lowered the tone & maturity of the forum, which in turn has driven older members (both age and time-on-the-site) away.
