For Those That Have Seen The G37 In Person

As per Mucarel's request, here is a post for people that have seen the G37 in person. PLEASE NOTE, if you HAVE NOT seen the G37 in person, DO NOT VOTE!!!!

Btw, I have made this vote public so we'll know who has voted......please do not vote unless you have seen this car in person at the NYIAS!

Definitely better in person. Few things need to change though.

Angry Much fire has been lost with this new G.

2004 6mt bembro brakes- mod engine, body, suspension and rims to taste. It is the way to go.

Bodykit manufacturers will eat well off this car.

I want my ironing board back !!!

The one area that may win me over is the mod potential. The compression is high but if the engine's internals are as strong as the GTR's is rumored to be, there is hope.

The car looks clumsy. The 1st gen has an agressive look. The headlights flow into a flared fender and then swoosh back to an equally agressive and proportianal rear end. Even with an 8.5" rear tire, the first gen G35 looks like it can hold a corner even sitting still. The lines are deliberate, agressive and tastefull.

The 2008... The interior looks second to none. The seats, steering wheel and dash look amazing. The exterior looks mushy at best. The head lights and tail lights are surrounded by akward, weak, unintentional lines. Mush. Find a line that starts in the front... and its been long lost by the time you reach side view mirror. The stance sits to high just so they could squeez a 20" wheel under the fender. The front facade looks like a 14 year old drew it in a 30 minute art class. The door panels look exactly the same minus SQUARE speaker enclosures. DUh... why square.

I think the 2008 G37 would have made statement enough with 20" wheels, same body, new rear spoiler, enhanced headlights and tail lights, wider body stance version of the 2007 fenders and an additional leather color and maybe a couple new paint colors. The new stereo, Dash, NAV and paddle shifters in addition to the exterior changes that I mentioned would have made everyone happy. They could have even jumped an inch for the tire widths front and back. The body changes they made really make no sense to me. A chrome spoiiler on a silver car is just plain retarded. This is just my .02. My 2006 6mt is BY FAR in no danger of being traded for a G37 coupe (sad to say). I will more likely upgrade to an M35/45. The most exciting aspect of this car is thinking... "when will they shove this 3.7 VQ motor in a Z?" Hopefully Nissan will not allow the body styling of the Z to be ruined as well.

Pics do not do this car any justice. I went to the show today, not liking how it looked in pics, and in person I was :O

Definitely getting one when it comes out.

definetally better looking in person, this car will sell, in my openion all this car needs is a front chin spoiler as that also made the first gen look better and yes it needs that ironing board back. inside looks great.

big let down

Car looks bland, like it wanted to catch up to the old lexus look. However, lexus abandoned that look and is looking way better now. The new concepts and their F brands were blowing away anything infiniti had.

Thanks!

Wish I could actually say I did it - but I guess the idea counts for something...

Their concept (IF-S?) is just that - a concept. It's very unrealistic and will look nothing like that when it comes out. You can't compare that to Infiniti which had almost no concepts (the ex is probably pretty close to the real thing - even the interior used real infiniti parts).

The suped up IS500 looks childish to me. The car will cost M3 money but with all that junk hanging on the car, only a kid would think it looked good. The "regular" IS350 looks nice IMO.

Forgot to add that I would be very interested in a new Supra if they ever really came out with one.

I went to the show and it looks the same as in the pics....my main complaint about the new model is the big bump on the top of the trunk in person it looks wierd other then that the car isnt that bad. Did anyone who went to the show notice the g35 attracted more attention then the g37?...i walked past the infiniti section 4-5 times and everytime there were more people lookin at the 35 then the 37.

I experienced the opposite. There was only a couple of kids by the G35, and about 30-40 people around the G37. But that didn't surprise me considering the G37 had tons of lights and was rotating with a model hanging around it.

I wanted a poll option that said, "Disappointed by pics, like it better in person, but still not sold." My contribution:
