Pulleys and belts
Hey guys I just got my car back from the dealership Saturday and they told me that my belts are cracked and very soon they will break. I was looking for some new ones and found the OEMs for $30 on ebay from a Infiniti dealer. But I was wondering since I'm going to get the belts changed I might as well look into some pulleys for a little more power. I found a few that come as a kit such as
Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley Kit(3 pc) w/belts - 03-07 Infiniti G35
Agency Power AP-Z33-130 Lightweight Crank Pulley Set Infiniti G35
Both of these are around $300 so here is my question are they worth it will they give me power? I am not planning on FI on my car check sig for future plans. Just want to get a little more power out of the engine that's all. I am about to order the Megan TPs are we speak, next pay will be the KCR (hks rep) then the Mrev with a spacer and a UpRev Tune and that's about it.
Just give me some advice on the pulleys and belts please should I or just replace the belts and that's it?

just go to your local infiniti dealer and pic up both belts..i think i paid 44$...and theres a lot of threads out there about light weight pulleys...a lot of people say they can throw off the harmonic balancing of the engine and can cause major damage which isnt worth the slight power gain..if any..and some say they havent had a problem...i would deff search and read for urself..i was thinking about pulleys and then read a few threads and decided im not going to take a chance

I am using an underdrive light weight pulley kit that is a UR replica. Its a 3 piece set, crank, alternator, and water pump I believe? Anyway, been using it for over 3 and a half years, and no problems with my engine. Now my crank seal is leaking, and my mechanic just recommends when he changes the crank seal just go back to a stock pulley.
My time at the drag strip did go down though, about .1 or .2 of a second. Since I dont race anymore, stock pulley would be fine.
But like what my original thread said, everything you replace a pulley you should replace the crank seal.
here is my thread 3 years ago in which my pulley was leaking oil when put on initally:

I dont recommend the full kit. It will def throw off the balancing on the engine. As you say you just want a bit more power? I personaly would only do the crank pulley/oem belt this will give you a bit more power and not through off the harmonic balance of your fine! VQ engine. You can go with stillen or the Orginal Ur Underdrive crank pulley. Stick with the big name brand for this mod. Some guys have video of dyno WHP from just this mod and got about 5.6 RWHP!!!!!!
