Osiris Standard (Yes, No?)

I have a 2008 G35XS and 2008 G37s (Bought the 35 and loved it so much I wanted the 37 too! :-) and have done a lot of research about tuners. Osiris is absolutely the way to go. However, I haven't been able to find a lot about Osiris Standard. I'd love to get my cars dyno tuned but the nearest shop is extremely far away. Can any shed some light on how their Osiris Standard E-Tune performs? I just don't want to shell out the $500 for no reason. Ohh and the 35 has K&N CAI and muffler delete (Also has a G37s front end conversion :-) ). The 37 has Stillen Gen 3 long tube CAI and muffler delete. Let me know if you can shed some light for me!! Thank you!!

Thumbs up You lucky guy

I would love to see pics of the front end conversion. How are you liking both cars. Is there a difference in feel, performance, etc., etc..

There are pro's and con's to going with Osiris Standard. For most guys the pro's far outweigh the cons. You will make a few more HP with a dyno tune but then you're tied to whatever shop did it if you ever need updates or something happens, have no way to reflash updates yourself, or reflash back to stock later on and sell it used, plus you don't get to use Cipher for OBD2 diagnostics like checking and clearing codes, etc. Typical dyno tune costs $600-800, with no cable.

With Standard you get the cable so you essentially own the tune and license, you can always reflash back to stock and sell it used (around $400), plus you're guaranteed that the guy tuning it (hopefully me) knows what he's doing with a VQ. Not everyone with a dyno does. It can be argued that you get a more well rounded tune as well since you'll be datalogging your own driving habits and style over time, as opposed to some guy you've never met before just flogging it on the dyno.

Then of course there's always the Fast&Furious cool factor of driving around with your laptop plugged in running datalogs...

Seymour thank you for your response!! I'll be buying my Osiris tune as soon as it stops snowing for the season!! ( upstate ny.lol) Your reply will help not just me but a ton of people looking for info about Osiris standard! I'm pumped!! While I have you here I'd like to pick your brain a little more. Is it worth getting the motordyne m370 intake manifold? I'm looking to get the most whp w/o going forced induction. Although, a stillen supercharger does sounds nice.lol and for the people that want to see my front end conversion I'll post some before and after pics!! If anyone has any questions about the conversion please feel free to contact me!!

The M370 is basically the intake manifold off a VQ35HR (same motor from your 35X) with a few custom tweaks. There has been lots of debate back and forth but no real 100% conclusive proof that its good or bad.. for the price I'd invest in other places first. HFC will make a much bigger difference, guaranteed.

Thanks for your quick reply! HFC it is! As for the people wondering about the difference between the 35 and 37. My 35 will get the 37 off a dig every time because of the AWD. However, once 2nd and 3rd hits on the 37 it's a wrap. As far as handling wise the 35 has my 37 beat because of AWD vs RWD. I will say that the handling is more responsive on the 37 but you can't take the corners as fast because of RWD. All in all if I'd have to pick I'd pick the 37 all day. Coupe + 6MT + RWD = One fun *** time. My 35 can't lay rubber down like my 37 can ;-). I will say if you have a 07/08 35 Sedan and can do the front end conversion. I did everything for around 2K but that was with me doing the entire conversion (paint/wiring/all). It's a pretty hefty price but damn does she turn some heads now!
