Tips for buying 2009-10 G37x sedan

Hey all, been looking at buying a used luxury sedan for a while within the budget of $20,000. I like the look and styling of the G37x. I am also a fan of the AWD and 300+ hp. I see a few in my area I am intersted in and would like to know what to watch out for with the vehicles. Anything "G37x specific" I should watch out for during the test drive/inspection? Notable differences between 09/10?

All opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, glad to hear you are interested in the G series Infinti's. I was lucky enough to find a low mile ex company car that my father was left in charge of selling, and my parents got tired of me getting tickets in my modified 99 Dodge Dakota R/T. So out went my truck for a 05 g35x. Sedan, since then I have become some thing of a g series, (I include the Q50 &Q60 in that phrase) fanatic... I'm on my 4th Infiniti, right now, a 2009 G37xS sedan. And can tell you every single difference between the 09 &10 Models specifically. The main difference is the front end, a 10 has a different front bumper and headlights than the 09, and MOST people seem to prefer the 10's front end for 3 reasons, 1st is it does look slightly more aggressive, thanks to the larger lower central grill with 2 horizontal bars. The 2nd, they also had fog lights mounted on the bottom corner grills from the factory while 2009 sedans also have fog lights, those are center mounted in the headlight housing. They only other difference is a very hard to notice different rear bottom design on the rear bumper, basically the 09 has a more noticeable dimple than the 10. That's it, aside from 2010 also being the "Anniversary" year so some people picked up a red leather interior in the anniversary edition. You won't find any major issues with swapping parts from 09 to 10's either. Currently I know several people who have swapped the 09 front end for the 10's and it's not a major project, I just don't see any point when swapping headlights alone costs close to $2000. I am swapping mine for the JDM Wald front end anyway. But good luck finding your G, sure you can find an 09 or 10 for under $20,000 with everything you want if your willing to wait a while. G driver's often buy sedans later to swap to coupes, or awd to rwd, ect... but most stick with the G series. There's one out there to fit almost everyones wishes...welcome to the club
