My window is doing that thing...

...where I have to hold the button up and slam the door for it to go up. Does it probably once a week. I'm currently too lazy to buy a new motor and install it, is it ok that I keep doing the door slam thing for now? Or is that motor going to completely crap out and leave me screwed with the window wide open. I'll probably do a DIY when the time comes, but yea can I stretch it longer?
