Oops??? Accidentally Debadged
I have been thinking about painting the Mt. Fuji emblem and the G35 emblem a gloss black or black chrome. I was nearly done waxing my car and figured I'd pull a little on the "G" emblem and it snapped off instantly. I figured I'll just do the "35" and the Infiniti lettering while I was at it. Horrible cell phone pic but this is what it looks like.
![]() I actually just used my fingernails and for the tougher letters I used a thin metal tool, sorta like a curved butter knife, but with tape on the edge. I used Goo Gone Xtreme and for the Infiniti lettering I had no issues and it came out clean, but the G 35 peeled some paint off and has an outline or fade. I believe I've read to solve this it needs to be buffed, but as I said, I will be making it black. Question here is, would a black chrome or gloss black emblem look better? Any tips on doing this? I have plenty of emblems (of other vehicles) that I can use to work on before I do the final product on the G. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Right now it's completely debadged. But I put the Tein badge on the lower driver side. I kinda like it without the Mt. Fuji emblem, but at the same time, I might put it back on once I get overlays, but in black or black chrome. Same with the G35 emblem. I wish I could just spot paint where the G35 emblem went but I'm afraid of it not matching.
