Best kind of air filter?

Like the title says im looking for the best kind of air filter for my 2004 g35 coupe. Just did the oil and was thinkin bout either a stillen air filter or K&N air filter.. open to any suggestions and thoughts thanx

well, assuming you have the stock intake, stillen doesn't make a filter for it.

amsoil's dry panel filter is the way to go IMO.

This topic has been brought up about 1000 times. You are going to hear at least 20 different opinions. What many owners prefer is to keep the OEM airbox and replace the upper tube with a Z-tube (stock on 350z) and replace the filter with an aftermarket filter (Amsoil or K&N). The OEM intake will not heatsoak as much as the aftermarket open-element filters will.

BTW, I have a z tube with K&N drop in filter.

The best intake however, is the JWT TT or Power Lab ST kit......in my opinion of course .

so ur recommending buying justthe stillen z tube and a k&n air filter? can u notice any difference in the way the car runs or picks up at all if any?

It's louder and sounds better. I didn't do a before/after dyno so I can't post hp gains/losses. Any gains would be due to the filter, not the tube. The tube doesn't have the silencer that the g tube has, therefore the noice increase.

O ya, never listen to manufacturers HP claims either.

thanks for the help, would u no an approx cost of both these and is it more or less a bolt on easy process? and u say it makes it louder, like will it get rid of the sweet sound in the exhaust or make that louder of a sound?

why do you guys keep saying the K&N cost 100 bucks? i just priced it at 45 bucks at autozone???
