Exclamation 07 G35 changed spark plugs and now it wont start

Hi All!

I need your help please. I changed my spark plugs on my 07 G35 and after I replaced them the car doesn't start. It will crank over and over but not fully turn on. I found that there is no Fuel pressure and no fuel being delivered to the engine. The car has 110K miles on it.

I did some research before starting the spark plug replacement and got an overview on how to replace them. The following steps is what I did to replace the spark plugs:

I started by disconnected the negative cable on the battery (not the positive cable). I started with the Driver side first. I proceeded with removing the intake tube from one throttle body and MAF sensor. That gave me clearance to remove one coil pack (I removed them one by one to avoid coil pack and wire confusion). After removing the coil pack i then proceeded with removing the spark plug and replacing it with the new one. After finishing the first one, I then removed the throttle body (TB) to get clearance to the other 2 coil packs and spark plugs. After removing the TB, I then proceeded with removing the coils and spark plugs the same way as the first one. I put everything back together the same way as it was originally. After finishing the driver side, I then moved to the passenger side and did the same process. No wires were disconnected or unplug, however, I did remove the TB's to get access to the coils/spark plugs. After all the parts were replaced, I started putting everything back together, engine cover etc... I went ahead to turn on the car and it would only crank! I tried it several times and it continued to crank only.

At this point I retraced my steps back and proceeded to troubleshoot each thing I did. In fact, I removed the old spark plugs and noticed they were completely soaked! I installed the old ones to see if the car would turn on and it continued to only crank. Now the car has the old spark plugs on (dry) and continues to crank but wont start. I did confirm I have spark on the coil packs, however noticed that I dont have fuel pressure.

Is this something to do with the anti-theft system? I researched everywhere and haven't found something that can help. Posting this up to get your input and suggestions.

Thank you in advance! Let me know if you need more info.

fuses

Checked all the fuses and they are good.. The ones behind and I front of the battery. Also The Ones In The Kick Panel On The Driver side.

I was reading some posts and they mentioned that the ECU needed to be reset? This person. Took it to the dealership to do that.

Can you shine some light on that too please?

Resetting the ecu just consists of disconnecting the battery for awhile.

You're saying there's no fuel pressure tho. If the reset doesn't work I can't imagine there's many things that could cause this problem. The fuse (you checked) or the fuel pump is all I can think of. Its unlikely, But maybe the fuel pump took a crap at the exact time you changed the plugs. Haha

fuel pump - passed

I checked the fuel pump and it's working and has pressure.. I removed the fuel gold "thingy" on the passenger side and fuel is being sent to it. That piece is connected to a hose that I think regulates the air and goes behind the engine on the passenger side. I removed the hose from that "sensor" and tried to turn it on and the car did start. Now, the hose was slightly off so it can suck in extra air. As soon as the car turned on I connected the hose back to its original place. Now running, the check engine light, the VDC and the slip light are ON illuminated. The car will not accelerate at all but does maintain a rough idle.

Any other suggestions?

I double checked the connections on each coil pack. I even went through them all and pushed them in and out with a flat head screw driver to make sure that they were clipped on correctly.

Did you happen to move the throttle plate on either of the throttle bodies?

Hi, almightyone! Like the user name! Lol

You know what, now that you've asked. I would say yes! I moved one, driver side to clean the plate from the inside. It was a bit oily.

Would that be the issue? And how to I reset the TB plate?

Thanks for the help!

I have seen several threads that say something about if you unplug the throttle body and move the plate it can cause all kind of issues. Might have to do a quick search and see what you can find on it. Off the top of my head I can't remember what all was said about it.

Exclamation BUMP to the top! Got codes on the car!

Alright guys, I was able to get a OBD2 reader to get the codes. This is what I got.

1. P2133 - Throtlle / pedal position sensor / switch F circuit high input
2. P0228 - Throtlle / pedal position sensor / switch C circuit high input
3. P1233 - Compressed natural gas fuel line system

I will be removing the Throttle bodies tomorrow to clean and check the connectors. For those who have clean them please provide your suggestions. I purchased TB cleaner from autozone.

Suggestions welcomed. Thanks!

Search for the guide. It pretty much means you need to remove em and do something with the battery... Not necessarily in that order.
