Needing to lose 30 lbs in 2 months for cruise!
My wife and I are going on a cruise in Dec. I have 2 months to get ready. I figure thatI need to lose 30+ lbs by then
. Has anyone done a diet that they were actually able to lose that much weight in that short of time? Is this a realistic goal? I'm probably going to gain it all back on the cruise. he he ![]()

Very possible. I did it when I was 18 went from 205 6'1 to 185 in 6 weeks by working out 40 minutes a day at the gym 5 days a week and drinking only water/tea/coffee (no soda) and eating no junk food...

i can help design a work out program for you. 30 pounds is way to much in 2 months, i figure you could lose at least 15 to 20 on a good diet with out lossing muslce. a rough figure is 3500 calories is equal to a pound of fat....so if you reduce your cal intake -200 to -400 a day you could lose a pound of fat. also taking 10,000 steps in a day is about a 30 min work out. pm me for more information...im a Kinesiology Major and Pre-Med....so i figure i know what im talking about roughly....

The key elements are to have a big breakfast, small meals through out the day. DO NOT EAT ANYTHING AT ALL 3-4 HOURS BEFORE BED TIME(cant stress that enough) 30 pounds is too much for 2 months but realistically you can lose 10-15. I say if you really want to see results do pure cardio, if you lift weights youre gonna replace muscle with fat and you wont really be able to see the difference in the first few months.
I would recommend you doing some research on bodybuilding.com |

yo i dont wanna say anything bad about that...but proven fact that just cardio wont do anything...instead of lifting weights strength train...there are alot of useless facts out there...try this:
keep to 4 to 6 portion meals a day....it doesnt matter if you eat at night...even though your metab is slower at night and faster in the morning... a routine of mine: breakfast--> ceral a healthy one, oj and fruit snack--> fruit and grapefruit juice lunch-->3 oz chicken breast(skinless)(bbq if possible) wheat bread and juice to drink or water snack--> granola bar dinner-->rice or potatos, steak, veggies snack--> fruit and juice i can give you a more detail diet if you tell me what food you want...if you want to trust me trust me with the information given by me... a 10 to 15 min run to warm up muscles...a key thing is not to do the same thin everyday, give muslces around 24 hours to recover from working out so do biceps and back one day and triceps and chest the next..do abs everyday lower body every other day.....strech before and after to help elongate muslces for a leaner look

Cardio+diet=10-15 pounds in 2 months. that diet itself, wont cut 10-15 pounds. i would show my body on here, but i wouldnt think its right since its 95% guys, and that would just be wrong.
I still recommend going by his diet and look for a good excersie program on bodybuilding.com. |

1) You must remember that in order to burn fat you have to eat fat. That is, the correct fat. EFA's (essential fatty acids) are the fats that you want most in a diet. Personally I like to try to have a lower fatty diet, with taking Flax Seed Oil Pills (FSOP) that I bought from GNC. FSOP contain Omega 3 and Omega 6. FSOPs are essentially made up of protein, fiber, and mucilage. It helps in digestion, and contains lecithin that of which emulcifies fat/cholesterol. It also has a prolonged effect of distributing nutrients to the small intestine therefore you feel fuller, longer and, actually eat fewer calories in the long run than if you would have chosen a no-fat or low-fat diet in all entirety.
2) Build some muscle. The more muscle your body has, the more calories you burn throughout the day/workout/whatever the case may be. In all ideology, I know you want to lose 30 lbs. of fat, however, if you got to 200 lbs. or 195 lbs. but replaced that 15-20 lbs. of fat w/ muscle, then you won't mind. So put some muscle on, and the next piece of advice will further help you burn the fat. 3) Cardio. I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) when it comes to cardio. What this is is that you have periods of full intensity running/climbing(stairs)/swimming/ whatever cardio you desire, with a period of light jogging/walking. Imagine those Olympic 40 yd. dash runner's bodies as opposed to a marathon runner's body(that's why I don't do loooong periods of cardio) those people are chizzled. Also with HIIT your body will continue to burn calories even after you have finished your workout. Let me show you an example: [a] Walk or power walk for a little while to get your muscles/legs/body warmed up, you never want to do cardio/workout on a cold body. [b] Do a light jog for about 1 minute or so. [c] Try to fully sprint or 90-100% run for about 30-45 sec. [d] Walk or jog for about 30 sec-1 min. [e] Repeat [d] and [e] for about 10 minutes or however long you want to go for. You don't want to overdue this either. Remember cardio helps, but won't fully deplete the fat. 4) Lots of water!!! I could never stress this enough, but water is/ and is going to be, your best friend. Drink lots of it, and you'll start to see a big change if you hadn't or haven't started already. 5) Make sure your meals are always spread out, small, and worth it. Nice breakfast, don't make your breakfast TOO large because you want to be able to fit a couple of nice snacks in-between breakfast and lunch. Your lunch would want to contain of a nice portion of protein with carbs sufficient enough to let your body feed off of that. Then more snacks (and when I say snacks I mean stuff like: carrots, trail mix, a protein shake, blah blah. Not brownies, or cookies, or crazy good stuff like that lol). Then dinner, you don't want it to be too filling or too heavy because since it is your last meal your body won't be ridding of all the "energy" that your body had just consumed. Therefore, it's going to just be stored and build up. Make your meals worth it, and make sure that what your eating is not going to make you feel guilty afterwards. By eating more smaller frequent meals throughout the day, your metabolism will always be working.. keep that in mind. 6) Don't fully deprive yourself of the goodie goodies. By fully depriving yourself of the goodies, the more and more you'll yearn for it. Then, when you finally get that chance to eat it... it'll be too late. Reward yourself with a cup of your favorite ice cream, or your favorite candy. However, keep it to a minim. By doing that, you'll keep sane and you still get to have the sweets you want, by not being guilty of filling your face with the bad stuff. I'm no expert, but this is just some of the stuff that I could have come up with to help you. Not all of it may be right in your's/other's eyes, but I have been pretty happy with how I'm going with my workout/eating regimen. I'm building more muscle then fat, and I'm starting to gain more muscle (I know it's muscle because I'm going to the gym more/lifting heavier weights/keeping the same diet) I hope this helps though. HEY, also remember, a loss of 30 lbs. isn't impossible in 2 months (relatively HARD but not impossible). Would you rather lose 30 lbs of fat and weigh 185? Or, weigh ~200 lbs. and replace some of the lbs. of fat into muscle. If you're serious, you could do it. But you have to be disciplined and serious about it.

30 pounds in 2 months is def possible....Im in thge gym everyday except weekends and i have seen plenty of people do it. Actually my best friend david that i work out with he went from 205 to 174 in 2 months so i know for a fact its possible. Its all in your head if your headstrong on loosing 30 pounds then you will accomplish it. Cardio is going to be your #1 way of loosing your weight besides watching what you eat. Stick with high protein foods for sure. As long as you are not super over weight as of now then you can basicly eat whatever you want as long as you excersize.
I would def say instead of snacking inbetween meals to stretch your meals out as far as possible. Try to skip breakfast if you can and wait for lunch or just have something simple like oatmeal in the morning (fruit is actually extremely fattening try to stay away from it) that way you are stretching your dinner out from the night before. Then go to lunch have something that is healthy..(pasta, any meats whatever, you know whats healthy hopefully) couple hours later have something real small again then go home and you need to run outside be sure you are sweting alot come home drink plenty of water and be sure to eat good afterwords. Have steaks or other kinds of meat for dinner. If you can keep that up for 2 months then i would say you will DEFINITELY loose at the least 20 pounds! Also, need to stretch afterwords....if you want to run in the morning before work or and eat a good healthy breakfast then that will help alot as well. DRINK LOTS OF WATER as well!! carry a bottle with you all day it will flush your system out... If your interested in everything we did PM me and i will type it all up there and talk to you about it.. Good luck!! ![]()
