Hey guys I recently started to work out again. I will be doing Full body work out, I'm pretty sore right now, knowing that my muscles are healing and having change to grow, how long should I wait in between the healing process? Thanks

There are many different beliefs on this, but I think you should wait long enough so that the muscle is
almost fully recovered (for me its 2 days, but you just started again so 5 +/- days maybe). To make it easier just target different parts of your body on different days. Now if you want to bulk up REAL fast just use this schedule: Push days and pull days. Back when i played HS football we lifted 5 days a week and it was one day push exercises, which are exercises that require a pushing motion (squats, bench, shoulder presses, etc.) and the following day pull exercises (lat pulls, power clean, dead lift, etc.). We alternated every day b/w these two and man did I get big. FAST. But then again its what works for you, I dont know your body type, I dont know if your scrawny or big. My .02 cents. ![]() |

72 hours
every time you workout a muscle, it take 72 hrs to fully recover id break up your workouts into diff muscle groups so while one group is healing, you cant work the other

at first while ur body is gettin used to lifting again (which should take maybe a few weeks) id give like 4 days for each muscle to rest. ive been lifting for years and i only lift each body part once a week. i used to do each muscle twice but didnt get the results i thought i would so i just went back to once a week but very heavy.

Make sure you take your multi every day
Some people say L-Glutamine helps so you can try that if you want, I never noticed anything and lots of people say its proven it doesnt do much. Make sure your getting about 1 gram of protein per lb of muscle you have

Lol the actual recovery does not bother me... anyway im 5'11 and weigh 165lb's Im trying to get cut. I eat very healthy. I decided i should split my work out again...My goal was to work out and run 2 days while the muscles are healing....but I'm not even sure if I should run after work outs as it might not give change to heal for the muscle??

I end up doing (no particular order except not putting shoulder day close to chest day):
- back/bicep/forearms 1 day - chest/tricep 1 day - shoulders/traps 1 day - legs 1 day I lift 4 days a week and have seen some pretty good gains. I'm 5'9.5, 157lbs. and max bench 225lbs. I take mild suppliments. That usually leaves more than 2-3 days for recovery, but you're still very active most of the week. Arnold's workout is pretty good too. We sometimes do: Calc 75% of personal max on any exercise. You have to do a total of 25 reps without getting up. Do as many as you can until failure, then rack the weight. Rest 30 seconds. Do as many as you can until failure (adding to number you did first time). Repeat until you get 25 clean reps. Attempts do NOT count. Usually, the last 7 or 8, you're lucky to get one. If not getting there, increase rest to 45 seconds. Pretty good gains with the above. It fully distresses the muscle worked. There are so many different ways to lift though... just have to find out what regimen works best for you.
