This thread is great, a lot of good info and i am learning a lot from here. What do you guys think about P90X??? I have been on this program for about a month and 2 weeks now and i have lost about 15 pounds. I am 5-10 was at 180 now at 165 Lbs. My body fat % based on the handhled machine thingy from GNC is 11-12% based on doing it back about 6 times... I want to get RIPPED, i really dont care much about BULK or HUGE muscles. I just want cuts cuts cuts cuts. So far the program is great, the excersises are great, but i am not seeing the results i want to see. Is there something i can do to increase results? Is the program even good? What do you guys think. We also take the recovery drink it suggest you take + protein bars. The drink has about 5grams of criotine in there as well, and i have been having that since a month and a half roughly. My friend works at GNC, he says that the crio takes about a month to a month and a half to start kicking in and showing results. Is this true as well? Should i be doing something else? The diet we are following very tightly, even though we have some off days. We have only "cheated" three times. By that i mean going out to like a sushi restaurant and having some cuban food just the other day. Like i said its been like 3 times total. Other than that we have been following the diet to the T. Any suggestion folks???

P90X is a good platform to work with. But like all other workout programs, works great for some and avarage for others, I say give it the full 13 weeks and then decide if it really worked for you. You should complete the full program and review to see if you are satisfied and if you are continuing to make progress. What is the change in your b/f as measured by that handheld? (I wouldn't trust those at all for accuracy however) |

Definitely, we are extending phase 2 due to a mini vacation we took to key west this past weekend. Also my wifes b-day came around the week we got back which was 2 days ago. We are back on track starting monday. We also bought Slim in 6 which we will do in the morning and P90x in the afternoons. Hopefully that would double our results. I will keep you guys posted, our last day of P90x is now July 19th =)

I think the P90X seemed like more of a weight loss platform, not a building platform... which is perfect for what your doing.
Ive watched the 30 minute presentation on tv, seems like a simple cardio resistance system that Ive heard from a few people has good results for weight loss. Im sure it tones too, but I'd like to know if anyone has put on good muscle with this system.

I put in a couple of pounds of muscle but its nothing drastic as where you will see the BIG difference. Overall its great for ripping you up IF you have bulk mass under. If you need to BUILD the mass this wont do it. I( am about finished with the program and its been great so far. Now i will go into heavy lifting and weights then hit the p90x. Hopefully this will complete my fitness expectations and goals.

I just got the P90x will start in the next few days. I plan on using my perfect push ups and bands. I did part of the chest and back just for fun and it is a work out. I used to be in phenominal shape, Im not over weight now, just not in shape. Will d before pics and post when I start.

i highly doubt it will give the results the guys on the ad gave. some of those guys have the bodies of guys who go to a gym and use real weights. im not baggin on it im just sayin some of those results they show are a little to extreme for what they show the workouts to be.

true, same thing with Bowflex and the other systems. PO90x should get you ripped with the proper diet, but size is not what Im after
