Boxing

Hi,

The company I work for used to have an extensive "wellness" programs such as Pilates, Kickboxing, ballroom dancing, salsa classes, belly dancing, fencing, etc... I used to take kickboxing at least twice a week and LOVED it, that was 3 years ago.

Since I love the way kickboxing has done to my body and mind, (let's not go there today ), I want to get back into it. I was looking into a franchise gym that just opened up near me (L A Boxing) and their programs look great and they have kickboxing and regular boxing for women.

Has anybody had any experience w/ L A Boxing?

Thanks.

Dont go to LA boxing...i box seriously and train to fight. the one that i looked at was a joke and way overpriced. the owner wasnt a real boxer and most of the guys that trained there were just mma brawlers and didnt have true boxing skills. im sure u have no intention of fighting or sparring but if u want to learn actually box id recommend looking for a specialized boxing gym. i bet it will be more affordable as well. if u want just a cardio workout then im sure LA boxing will do but i personally wouldnt join one.

I love Fresh Prince!

Thanks ltrrtl218. I really just want the cardio I just want to get back into shape... if I only have time, I'd do more than this... But I will take your advice and check out "real" boxing gyms and see what they have to offer.

Thanks again.

I'm going to try out the cardio kickboxing at 24 hour fitness sometime....not the same as LA boxing probably, but still a good cardio workout likely.

I'm going to assume you're in LA (since you said LA Boxing) But if you were in San Fran area I would suggest Fairtex Muay Thai academy. It'll be a good workout and you'll learn how to kick butt!

I'm actually in the Bay Area. I went to L.A. Boxing and aside from the great class, the neighborhood that it's located in is too scary for me.

I found another gym to do kickboxing in and it's in a better neighborhood.

Thanks for the advice!
