What is the most repulsive food you have tried?

For me, it is a close tie between natto (fermented soy beans) and durian, (the fruit.)

The first time I tried natto was at a sushi bar on Oahu. I am open to trying new things, but my taste buds were not ready for the foul taste that followed.

I can only imagine, but it must be similar to putting a dead mouse in your mouth.

The second time I gave it a shot was in a pre-packaged form on a breakfast buffet at the Hilton. It was milder, but still not for me.

I know that Southeast Asia considers Durian the "King of Fruits," but I found the odor and taste quite revolting. They can have it.

Well usually I can determine if something tastes like sh!t by smelling it, so I deny it on the spot. I can't think of

anything disgustingly repulsive right now because of that. I usually go:

Never tried Durian, probably never will. My family is asian and we all refuse to eat that stuff. Luckily for me, I haven't eaten something that's tasted completely foul to me, well except for food that's gone bad...

Garnet Canuck, ever have fresh pork liver? Like a couple hours fresh? It's pretty damn good, at least that's how I remember it as a kid.

Unfortunately, my Mother loved calves liver with onions I went hungry those nights.

LOL and I absolutely love a good feed of liver, bacon and fried onions. I actually like it as well as steak, so yummy, melts in your mouth.

I felt a bit nauseated when I bit into the raw salt cod that Brian (AthensBlueG) picked up at small store on the Gaspe Peninsula last year (and I like fish).

I love sushi, but one day i tried octopus and squid sushi and i couldn’t eat it. Not so much the taste, but the texture of those 2 pieces is just awful. Another one that brings back bad experience is Chocolate Meat. It’s a Filipino dish, (my gf is Filipino) its basically pork in blood... little too salty + didn’t feel right.
