New Years Eve Food Traditions

I haven't been home for New Years in many years, but I remember my parents always ate pork and sauerkraut that night along with shrimp cocktail.

When I lived down South, Hopping John was very popular. (Black eyed peas and rice) Supposedly for every bean you ate, you had another day of good luck. (Insert bean jokes here)

What are your family traditions?

Traditions on New Years eve for me have been things like

Shrimp rings with seafood cocktail sauce
Bacon wrapped scallops
Steamed beer and garlic mussels
Lots of cheese trays with pepperonis and sauces
Wings
Chips and dips
Potstickers and spring rolls

That sounds good! I might have to make some of those.

I had some great egg rolls on Christmas Eve from a Chinese restaurant in PA called #1. We always joke that #1 makes you go #2, but those egg rolls were awesome!

Yeah man, they are awesome. I more or less do this except I don't add any sausage or dijon mustard.

We don't have any particular traditions, but man all of the above sounds good! And beer, of course, lots and lots of beer.

I loooooove corn bread. Calls to my Southern white trash roots. Montana's restaurants up here make a delicious sweet corn bread.
