They're Called Flautas

Basically they're corn tortillas rolled up with finely chopped chicken inside (you can use whatever meat) and fried up. Definitely not the most healthy food, but ohhhhh so good! Usually topped with the ever unhealthy mayonnaise and sprinkled with some lemon or lime and served with a side of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoe, and some avocado.

I'm eating these as I post this thread!! mmmmmmmm... GOOD!!

Flautas are awesome. I get them every time my wife and I go out to a local Mexican restaurant. Delicious. I've never made them myself though.

I've seen something VERY similar to this, but it was called something else. You can even find them frozen in places like Harps, all you have to do is deep fry them. Very good, but very unhealthy.

Thanks guys.. these are so good, but soooo unhealthy... most mexican dishes aren't so healthy to begin with anyway...as you can see also, i broke up some tortillas into fourths and fried them up in the leftover oil for some chips... like i said... sooooo unhealthy but soooooo gooD!!!

Flautas are made with flour tortillas, and are a little longer... taquitos are made with corn tortillas. At least that's what I've always thought

Damn, those look good!!!

I used corn tortillas, but it doesn't make them taquitos... i'm not exactly sure, but it's pretty much where you're from and culture.. people call them different things.. I call them flautas

taco bell calls their stuff totally different things from what i call them...

Those flautas look great!

Tortilla chips made with flour tortillas are soooo good. This restaurant used to serve them and we'd eat so many we were full by the time the entrees came!
