Best Beverage with a Meal

Friday I had this conversation with some co-workers… I find that nothing is better than milk with ANY food! I love the stuff! I don’t like it by itself – but with food nothing is better…

I’ve never understood how people like Wine with food – or even beer

Soda is okay (I usually have it with lunch – for the caffeine)

Anyway I figured a poll would determine if I’m a milk minority

Soda for caffeine? Man, you don't need much! I have a Saeco Via Vento in my office to keep me awake with espresso shots

yeah, I considered water as an option in the poll - but it only allows 4 choices... I wanted to add "nothing" as well - my Mom doesn’t drink anything with her meals (I have to)...

LOL @ Milk as a kid... that’s what started the conversation at work... how it's sometimes awkward at a nice restaurant when everyone is ordering wine or tea and I order milk

I voted for soda above, only because iced tea wasn't an option.

My favorite concoction right now is one part pomegranate juice and 3 parts green tea with crushed ice.

Wine is great for the right meal or occasion.

Anybody ever drink milk straight from the cow?
I was visiting my Ex's father at his farm and we sat down for a steak dinner, I picked up my milk and started drinking when I noticed it wasn't the smooth consistency I was used to.
It was pure, unpasteurized and squirting out of a cow hours earlier A little warning would have been nice.

That was dairy cow we eating also

When I was 3-4 years old, whenever I saw our neighbor going to milk her cow, I'd grab my cup and follow her to get the freshest unprocessed milk.

Oh, and I also enjoy eating boiled beef tongue. I have it every other week. Tastes great and it is very easy to cook.

That I have had before in a sandwich, it is not something I would order from the deli menu though.

Too much milk is bad for you though, or so they say. I like milk, but i dont LOVE it. I am on an ice tea kick right now. Raspberry Iced Tea is my favorite. Though, i used to drink pepsi religiously. That was, till i got kidney stones! They say too much soda will do that, as well as too much milk. Lemonade is good, but, right now, ice tea FTW!

I take strawberry lemonade with most of my meals

But on that list I go with Beer.

Milk does go well with some meals but not all

Soda/Pop I don't drink at all

Wine same as milk. Goes well with some meals

Beer goes well with all meals IMO.

I thought kidney stones were from calcified deposits - like minerals from tap water... I used to work for a company that did diagnostic imaging and started getting into a technology that blasts kidney stones with sonic waves... extreme low frequency thumps that actually brake up the stones and allow them to pass... the patients reported feeling like they had been physically beaten in the kidneys The treatment was very rare here, but more common in the mid-west… it was reported to be due partly because of the drinking water.

Anyway - I drink sh!tloads of milk and haven’t had any kidney stone issues (I'll probably go into ER tonight now that I jinxed myself)
