Cool 1st gen sedan dual exhaust complete.

A few months ago I changed out the mufflers for dual output models with quad burnt titanium tips and added helmholtz resonators to help eliminate drone in the main cruise rpms.

I will get up some pics ASAP

4/28/08

New pic:

First off I need to give a huge Thank you to Kevin from Nichols AutoFab in Prescott AZ for giving up his weekend to make me a custom exhaust knowing how much work this was going to be! His quality is awesome and he put in two very long days ~15+ hours to make this happen.

NicholsAutoFab@CableOne.net

The final results are 3" Vibrant Performance downpipes with wastegate dumps routed back into the exhuast. (for those who don't know the Greddy wastegate design sucks and fires the exhaust back in at 90 degrees when the wastegates open)

This v-bands up to a dual 3" exhaust using Magnaflow mufflers (center and two at the end) finished off with 3.5" tips. Everything is stainless so there won't be any rust issues.

The reason I needed dual 3" is the car is getting a built motor next month and the Borla I had works great up for stock block boost applications but is just too small past that.

I will get a sound clip later this week when I get some time.

Update 2/21:
Found a problem with how I modified the fuel evap system. That system is used to purge and vent the fuel tank. I figured since the oem fuel cap is a venting cap everything would be fine. Well it is, except for when you are trying to get gas! There is no way for the air in the tank to vent when the filler line is full of fuel. So it takes 20 minutes to fill up your gas tank. We are going to do one of two things. I'm either going to put another line that goes up to a valve I can open or if it will fit we are going to run a vent line up to the top part of the filler line so it can breathe. I'll keep you updated.

Here are the results.

Right side downpipe/dump

Back home and happy!

I knew you guys would ask and that's why I said I will post sound clips later this week. Sorry for the delay but I don't have any spare time for the next few days.

It does sound very good IMO. It is louder than my borla and it has more drone at low rpm but it is much larger and more open so I was expecting that. Plus I also did a 3.3vlsd swap so my around-town driving is at lower rpm now.

Thanks

Not enough. They are fighting for their life back there. 275/30's are all I can fit. My fronts have ~75% left after and my rears are down to ~20% and I don't even do burn-outs!

It's on the list.

Have a lot of stuff to pay off first so it won't be for a while.

thats a clean work, get some pics from the top of the car in day time so we can see how the 2 pipes flow with the overall design of the car.

What kind of rear lip/bumper r u using.
