injen exhaust question

Just recently bought a used injen exhaust. I put the exhaust on about a week and a half ago and did not put the gaskets between the h pipe and the actual piping going back to the mufflers...now it revs up a lot and then smells funny when i step on the gas but doesnt accelerate as fast...then it explodes and goes....anyone heard of this or have a remedy...also i tried to find out if injen had a gasket for these but they wont answer my email...will two of the stock y pipe gaskets fit on there or do i even need them? thanks guys/gurls
