Haha....John whatever end up happening to your HR Y-pipe anyhow??? Please don't tell me you tossed it in the trash cuz you couldn't find a buyer fast enough. That happened to me earlier this month with someone else's exhaust but that's another story....

Seriously, I can't wait to get mine. I guess the real question is, has someone kept their OEM HR Y Pipe and just used that one with their aftermarket exhaust?

If so, how is it performing together with your new system?

haha, nah I traded it for an OEM y-pipe to sk8bo4rdv about 3 weeks back. Any luck finding one yet?

^^^so i see from your sig. you got the magnaflow exhaust. Now your just looking for the Ypipe. How do you like the exhaust?

Uhh uhh not yet. (Soon to be) I'm still waiting until after tax time. Plus my birthday's coming up too. With the little I'll have set aside for that specifically, I'll put it toward the purchase/installation of the Mag.

Hopefully these two parts together will = great times. What if I added HFCs? How much more power will that add?

maybe 5-7whp...you're not running a significant enough amount of power for it to matter, but it will change the sound of the exhaust a bit

the way my exhaust sounds now and when you have the same set up, I suggest dont do HFC the car will be to loud in my oppinion. just go with the spacer or mrev2 (rev-up)

I would go w/ HFCs over the HR y-pipe any day

Really? I thought the longer pipes on the HR made it yield some extra HP.

How much louder will it be if I did both HR-Y pipe and HFCs but kept the stock catback? I'm thinking if both yield enough gains, I won't need an aftermarket exhaust until I go FI.

That's not going to be for a long while though......

Guys, so you're saying in my stock exhaust form now, skip out on the HR y pipe and just go for the HFCs alone? As for HFCs, I'm trying to decide between the Crawfords and FI ones.

My only concern is, I just don't want to run in to any problems here in Chicago when it comes time for the emissions test.

Do the HFCs make the car blow smoke or stuff like that? Or does it still look and smell normal around the exhaust area like with the OEM Cats?

ti, that's what I had

MDE 5/16" spacer, Stillen/Ztube, CrawfordZ HFCs, and the HR y-pipe w/ the stock exhaust. The HFCs are what make the most difference in the sound of the exhaust, whereas the HR y-pipe didn't really change it much, if any at all. However it accelerated much smoother. As for HFCs, they smell a bit, but not NEARLY as bad as test pipes, and they don't blow any smoke haha. Also, you shouldn't have any problem w/ emissions with HFCs.

My HR y-pipe is sitting next to my car waiting to be installed. From what i hear i should notice a difference?

When you say it smelled, is it a scent that comes in the cabin or are you saying it's a smell you notice while standing next to the car when its running?

What does it smell like?

Nah you smell it outside the car, pretty much only on cold starts, and it smells like ... I dunno gasoline lol
