can you tell me where to get just the back half?... after I posted last, I called Riverside Infiniti and they say it comes entire air box only... I was considered going to a salvage yard to take off just the velocity stack only.

which brings up another question - everything else about the box is the same dimensions as non-revup box right?

The airbox does not have to be sold as an entire assembly. You can order just the back half or what Nissan calls the "Cover". Order it from infinitipartsusa.com (aka Everything G35) for $81. It looks exactly like the normal airbox. The only difference is the much larger stack. You must use a 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT as the search car or else you'll get the non-Revup airbox which does sell for $20 less.

I thought you were dead set on aftermarket intakes working for cars assuming they had the correct tuning I'm just busting your chops.

you can also get a rev up airbox from a z and switch out velocity stacks. it was cheaper for me that way.

one of the reasons I'm pro Stillen intake is the velocity stack... the only reason I'm getting this box is to see if I can help control intake temps (from the heat of headers)... I'll still have the Stillen as well - in fact all my intake stuff is being re-painted as I type - so I figured I might as well get the OEM box painted at the same time in case the temps are lower...

Until I use both, I won’t know which one I will run... I know I probably wouldn’t run the 04 OEM I have - however, I planned to paint it too and measure the temps with it just to see.

I've already talked with Riverside Infiniti - they say its sold as entire box only, not just the half with the velocity ring... the part number that has been listed in this thread (more than once) comes up as the entire box.

I'm wondering if the piece of the box with the velocity ring (or even just the ring itself) will mate up with the remainder of the 03-05 box... and if so, can it be purchased separately.

I've stated it several times... I know some of you understand what I'm saying, but apparently others do not.

Since someone was kind enough to measure, I'll try to measure my Stillen velocity stack. But IMHO, it's at least as long as the rev oem unit.

the OEM isn’t going to be any bigger or better than the Stillen... but I'm hoping its box design and material helps with the intake temps... we'll see.

*For those that run Stillen - with OEM exhaust manifolds or after market headers that do not cause excessive heat, I believe the difference is negligible. I'm using Crawford and they are creating far more heat than I’m willing to ignore - that’s the only reason I'm interested in the difference between Stillen and OEM heat control - once I have the OEM that I would consider using, I'll do comparison of intake temps between the two.

what you dont get its is, i bought the back part of the air box from riverside infiniti, thats how i know you can buy it from them. I then sold it to a member here (hope he got it already). other member have also purchased the back half of the airbox from other sites also. So i know what i am talking about. I spoke over the phone with the vendor here when i made the purchase so he should know more info about buying from riverside infiniti.

you want to order the Air Box Cover, that's how it's listed in the parts catalog...
