This is old, but is shows that "rechargeable" air filters, flow more air, but don't get the dirt out.

If I had it to do all over again, I would leave the OEM air box, replace the tube and stick with a good NON RECARGABLE air filter. No K&N or the like ever again.

Yeah it is unfortunate it has to sacrifice quality for more air. Plus OEM filters are cheaper .

Awkward moment where my K&N filter just came in recently too....

Has anyone actually reported any issues that relates back to the extra dirt let in by the rechargeable air filter on our G's?

You always make fun of the necromancer. I would recommend stock.

You were answering someones question from a year ago. That's the thing.

Air filters are also a touchy topic. Lots of opinion on it, stock is the safest and best option to go. From what I found the dry rechargeables like amsoil lose their breathing capabilities after a while but still filter. The opposite holds true for the K&N oiled filter.
I heard the Napa ones are pretty good too. Once again, all subjective.

I personally don't know of any, however you can pull mine and stick your finger in the mouth of the MAF and wipe an oily black grit out of there. It can't be good for it.
