Stock exhaust backfiring?

Hi,

I drive a 2005 g35 coupe 6 MT completely stock and around November last year i noticed the exhaust backfiring but not too loud it was very subtle. It was around the same time that i took my car to the dealership because i heard a crackling noise under the engine and the dealership told me that my exhaust heat-shield was rusted and that was causing the noise so they just took off and
they said i was good to go, the crackling noise was gone and i was happy. I dont know if its me but i think the backfiring got a little bit louder. is this
normal for a stock exhaust?

Tonight when i was pulling into a private property i turned my DRL's off by pulling my ebrakes just a bit(without them actually engaging) quickly flicking the key back and forth while the revs were around 3-4000 while the car was rolling around 5 km/h.(this was the second time i did this)

The car was never shut off and when i was on my way home i noticed the backfiring got really louder. It was a loud popping noise. I tried to do some searching and found a thread that matched my experience tonight.

Here's the thread:https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-...ust-trick.html

Anyone would like to give me some advice on whats going on with my car?

*ducks into a cover to avoid flaming*

Read the thread you just posted, there is an answer.
And why would you
quickly flicking the key back and forth while the revs were around 3-4000 while the car was rolling around 5 km/h.(this was the second time i did this)
Referring back to the old thread that is EXACTLY why you are experience backfire...

Yea I understand that I shouldn't do that. But I still experience a slight backfire normally. What I wanted to know was is that normal for a stock exhaust? And would taking the heat shield of somehow make the exhaust louder?

Mine backfired all the time when i had a stock exhaust and no i dont think taking a heat shield off would affect the exhaust flowing out of the engine and through pipes.
