Top Pro 1 Exhaust Illegal in CA?

Specifically, I was looking at the
Infiniti G35 Coupe 03-08 Straight Catback Exhaust System Systems + Y-Pipe Y Pipes

http://www.topspeedauto.com/index.ph...h=infiniti+g35

Does anyone know if this exhaust would be too loud or not pass smog tests ect. FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA? Thank you for your time. Im new to the forums so if I have posted in the wrong area please let me know. Sorry in advance.

Your exhaust from the car back doesn't effect smog, it is the catylic converters that cause issues! Replace them with carb approved high flow cats and you'll be kosher!

There's one way you can run HFCs and still pass the registration tests every two years. Swap your OE cats back in and take the test, only after you've driven approximately 25 miles to heat them up. There's no such thing as CARB approved HFCs, that ship sailed four year ago! I haven't heard of anyone getting pulled over recently for exhaust system noise...Gary

My buddy got pulled over for too loud of an exhaust. Of course he was driving like an a-hole too. Its one of those things they pull you over for just to have a reason to pull you over. Like window tint or no front license plate. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, it'll have to be removed for the fix-it ticket.

How you drive has a lot to do with your getting pulled over and they'll find a reason to write that ticket. Most of us that don't run a front license plate and have tinted door windows have just been lucky!
