Cat is out of the bag!

So there has been a "chiming" noising that has been strongly present with a lot of air movement through my engine/exhaust. The dealer confirmed one of my catalytic converts has busted and pieces ringing around the inside of the cat housing is what is causing my noise.

I'd like to save a shiny penny on labor and replace the faulty cat myself. However, i'm not sure which cat is the faulty one (passenger/driver side). I have also heard in a few places that we have 4 cats, 2 upper and 2 lower, is this true? How can I locate exactly which cat is making the noise? It was months ago that the car was in the dealer and I was told this and simply forgot to ask them which one

Is a cat DIY difficult? I'll try and hunt down a DIY here soon but if anyone finds one, any help is appreciated
