Tint Issues...Please advise

Hey all, just got my windows tinted (20% on my black obsidian). Looks pretty bad a**. Just curious...they said they couldn't tint the upper 3-4 inches of my rear windshield b/c of the strip of bumps at the top. Have you guys had this problem? They said tint doesn't stick there. Are your windows tinted to the top?? Thanks...

I have 20% all the way around on my BO sedan with no problems. They are full of it!

I do know that the back window tint will fade and lift before the sides but that still takes a couple years here in Phoenix.

Well that sucks that the job has already been done. Tint doesn't stick to the dot matrix that well but that area can be lightly sanded and the tint will then stick better over that area. If you could bring it back to them before the adhesive completely dries and tell them to redo the rear glass. Your rear glass probably looks funny without 20% tint over the matrix. You can get away with 35% tints and not cover the matrix but 20% rear and none on the matrix would stand out.

only my old (97) mustang those dots were porcelin (sp?) and tint doesnt really stick to it. if you take it to a good shop they can get it done. mine lasted pretty long but eventually started to peel off after a year or 2. dont know about the G yet because its too cold to do tint here right now but im assuming it is percelin also.

No problems with my 5% back there at all. If this were the case the rear 1/4 windows would have the same problem with how they are framed... I have no issues there either.

My tint guy is currently doing my rear windshield at 35%. He strongly suggested not to tint over the dot matrices because it will become fuzzy and white. Knowing how particular I am, I agreed with him. I'll take pics when the job is done, but hopefully it won't be too bad.
