Idk where the hell my original post went but luckily you quoted that... I'm going to try to get my roomate to get up and I'll make you a quick video today of me driving. Worst case I'll do a walk around, and at least show you how they look from another view.

Love it. Thanks. I do like the feeling of pushing the stick around, but it's of course not a true manual. I am sure it adds a whole new level of fun to the car, though.

Edit: These paddles are mounted to and turn with the wheel.... I wouldn't know which one to press when driving hard. These are no more convenient than the regular tiptronic shifter IMO.
I looked on my buddies Audi A5, and it has the paddles on the wheel so dont feel so bad here. Like I said when ur driving fast you dont really have the wheel past 90 deg. having them on the wheel allows you to stay at 10 and 2. u wud actually hate to be in mid turn and have to take ur hand off the wheel to reach for the paddle.

They are column mounted, sorry to let you down! Just like OEM.

Why did Infiniti design column mounted as opposed to wheel mounted paddles? Survey says everyone seems to like wheel mounted ones waaaay more.

Also, I got a bit anxious and said screw it! I'm making the video ha. Sorry about the dangerous activity... Filmed on a closed course...not.

No lag time because the moment you hit the paddle it grounds the up shift or downshift relay. You hear "click" then the next gear is already there.

Baha. It's impossible to speed up the shift lag between pressing the paddle or shifter and the actual gear shift. Having the options right there at your fingertips definitely speeds things up, because there is no need to reach down for the dinky tiptronic lever. Looks cool too!

Impossible? The transgo kit does just that. I think stillen still offers valve body services too. If memory serves me, Osris offers TCM flash in their uprev software now. PCS offers a programmable transmission controller as well for the G35 in conjunction with their paddle shifters.

I mean without using a VB upgrade kit or sending it out for the stillen VB. If you watched the video I posted you would hear me say I don't have a VB but I had my tuner adjust what he could with uprev like you just said. Is there more information about the transmission controller? Is it a new TCM? Reflash?

Ultimate Test: Hit the button at 6.5k and see if you over rev.

Granted the ECU doesn't override over revs and shifts to the next gear.
