Rear bumper repair

Hey Guys,

wondering if any of you guys think that this is repairable instead of the buying a full replacement and getting it painted etc etc

this was a slow impact, was hit by a vehicle backing up slowly so there is really no damage at all other than the bumper being pushed in....

There is a hole from impact, thats not 100% recoverable. Heat the surface from 6-12" with a blow drier for 5 minutes and then start pushing out the poly little by little. it should come back out better then expected.

lol the sticker idea was brought up by friends haha.

What I would like to do is, pop it out and then try to plastic weld the hole back with urethane. I don't mind sanding it down and preparing it, then spraying over top.

Has anyone ever had luck doing this with a bumper cover before???

It's not that I am cheap, but id like to try to fix it myself, and being that the car is 10 years old, I don't want to pay top dollar quote from body shop 935.00 to fix just a bumper cover

Actually more like about $200 or less for a used bumper n another $200 or so for paint. Install urself. U talk about doing things right there u go man. Or even less cost Bondo the bumper urself it ain't hard n jus pay a shop to paint. It's not an expensive repair if ur resourceful n u don't have to cheap out on anything

totally agree, There is a member here that I will most likley buy a bumper off of, He is the best deal so far and he's really helping me out. I just figured I may be able to try and fix it.

So with heat and popping the dent out, do you think there will be any creases that won't be able to be removed?

right on. Sounds like a fun project for the spring. I need to learn something new anyways, sometimes the hardway is valuable, especially when you learn something
