Hood not Locking ...

Cars been in storage since Dec ... started it up a couple months ago, disconnected battery went to close the hood and it wont lock down. I can pop it open no problems and can press it down but it just pops back up. I can't tell if the mechanism is seized or something else is causing it? I tried searching the forums but could only find hoods/trunks unable to open at all.

Anyone else have this issue? Any quick fixes possibly?

Its a 2007 G35 Coupe if that matters ...

Look at the hood hinges. I know thats a semi common problem, causing misalignment and in my case, wouldn't latch when I shut the hood

The latch mechanism could have loosened and moved downward. And make sure everything is lubed.

It does seem seized after looking at more closely. I lubed the **** out of it and will go back and take a look when I have some time. Thanks for the replies though appreciate the help. Once I have it sorted out will post back with the resolution

Im having the same problem all of a sudden. My hinges are ****ed up but Im able to visually line up the hood with the latch but its not locking down. Im going to take a more in depth at it tomorrow and see if I can fix it but just wondering if you got yours figured out.

I bought new hinges from the dealer and I installed them in about an hour. It was really simple once I read how to do it without removing my fenders. I highly recommend new hinges. It solved all of my hood issue and only cost about $65.
