How to replace sunglass holder??
My sunglass holder broke so I ordered one off EBay to replace it. This is where I am:
As you can see the left side has a post sticking out to far for me to slide the female side over it.I'm afraid I have to remove the entire overhead console. Anyone done this before?

Gotcha. Well ill go ahead and make a note to myself to try and do a guide. I should be able to figure it out since I do work at an Infiniti Dealership. Worse case scenario, you may need to replace the dome light/sunglasses holder assembly as a whole. But we'll hold off on that until we know for sure.

Alright, here's what you do (real simple):
First put the old holder back up and set it in the closed position so it sticks closed.
Next, invite a friend to "go with you to the store". While you're waiting for the car to warm up, act busy and ask your passenger to "please grab your glasses out of the glasses holder".
Now, when they push the release button, the whole assembly will fall (don't use your ray-bans for this!!). Here's where your acting skills come in: you act surprised and tell them this has never happened before and they have to pay for it because they weren't careful with their herculean strength.
At this point its smooth sailing. You collect the money from the offender, take it to the dealer, and you just got it fixed for free.
You're welcome.
