Took out the back seats for the track, some pics before I put em back in

Hey guys,

I recently went to the 1/8th mile strip, and I figured that removing the rear seats and the contents of the trunk area would do me some good.

I'll say this up front, it didn't really make a difference. Surprisingly, the rear seats are very light with the heaviest part being the arm rest. When adding in the trunk mats, it was not a total weigh savings of more than 50lbs (I am not including the spare donut). I didn't weight everything, but it was NOT a lot of weight, and taking out the rear seats made no difference on my trap or ET (I'm going off of uncorrected times).

Here are some pics if anyone is wondering what a G35 without rear seats looks like. You can also marvel at my cloth interior and wonderful 16inch wheels.

Enjoy!

Also, does anyone know what the circular thing with the "FR" is?

Here's a quick video of me pulling an sr20 swapped 240...too bad his trap was a lot faster, and he ended up beating his time by a good bit later in the day.

I won't post times until I do a proper 1/4mi at a good track on the 6th, so don't ask! That'll be a different thread in a different section.

Nick

Yeah, the cloth always gets people. It's a true base model, cloth, auto, no sunroof, no power seats, no heated seats, no NAV, no BOSE, 16's.

It was a colossal waste of time, but it was cool to do. My verdict is that if you're going to the track just remove all of the rear trunk mats, etc., and leave in the seats.

My empty G. The coupe rear seats weigh right around 50lbs as well.

The fuel pump is under the cover on the passenger side.

That's something you don't see everyday.

the G's have 2 floats. 1 is in the passenger side, primary and the other is the secondary.
