Corbeau Fx-1 racing seat Review
So I just got my Corbeau Fx-1 Pro seat installed last week and thought I would give a quick review for anyone considering a racing seat. First off, it was a pretty good value. At $542 shipped for the seat, bracket, and harness it was much easier to justify than a Sparco Evo 2 at $779 for just the seat. The seat weighs 17.8lbs and the whole set up only weighs 30.2lbs. It bolts in nice and easy and even if you are bad with tools it sholdn't take more than 20 minutes to install. Although I didn't know where to bolt the harness into in the back of the car, I just attatched it to the OEM seatbelt and seat bolts. It is just a standard 3 point harness. It works just fine. The seat is actually more comfortable than the OEM seat for some reason and I had no problems with it during 5 hours of highway driving last weekend. My stock engine doesn't really push me back enough to make the seat flex, but in a larger turbo setup the seat might get a little flimsy. It holds you really well in the corners too. In aggressive driving around town at least. The only downside is the sliders don't move back or forward to much so it makes it hard to get in the back or find stuff you dropped under the seat. The weight savings are pretty impressive. All in all it is a great entry level seat. And it looks good.
