Headlight Problem... need help

Sometimes one of my headlights goes on and sometimes it doesn't. (the upper bulb) The number of occurrences in which the headlight fails to turn on is increasing as time goes on. I assume that the bulb is fine, because if it wasn't then it would never work, rather than off and on. Could it have something to do with being lose, the wiring or bulb? I'm not sure. Help me out if you can.
