v-leds problem - how to test an H4/9003?
so I bought these H4 replacements for my fogs, although when I put them in, they don't light up...
anybody have any thoughts on why they're not working and how I can test them outside of my car? possibly with a multimeter? ![]() |

you cannot test them with a multimeter, diodes are not linear electronic devices.
I am not sure what you need to test, if the old bulb works and the led does not get the led exchanged.

thx for tips calc, will probably try for a refund...
vled's response: "Use a 12v power source like the battery in your car, take two jumper wires and connect one end to the battery and the other end to the LED. Through this test you will find the plolarity layout of the LED bulb. You would need a test light to find out on your car. It is very possible the positive and negative just need to be swapped. Sometimes you can just pull the pins out of your harness connector and swap them around." I'm less than eager to tap my car battery to this light / re-wire the harness, anybody try this before? |
