Replace 3rd brake light - Cheap

My 3rd brake light recently went out. After doing some searching and removing the light, I realized replacing this LED assembly would be expensive (~200). I refuse to pay that much for a replacement light so I decided to come up with an alternative. In the end, I was able to integrate 4 red 12V bulbs into the existing LED housing. The new light is a little dimmer, but still very effective and enough to do the job. I have attached a few pictures. if anyone is interested in details, or wants me to modify their housing with new bulbs to save some money, let me know.

There are 2 screw/clips in the trunk just under the brake light. You need to first pop those out. Next, pull the back seat down. Last, pull the light assembly up and away and it will come off so that you can disconnect the harness.

Pull out the housing (simple) and replace the LEDs. I'll do it tomorrow and report back... I have 1 missing also.

I have just tested my light assembly and only the middle 2 lights light up. How do I replace the other 4? Can I just rip them off and solder these on? http://www.ebay.com/itm/20pcs-PHILIP...em4ace30 2dd7
