I'm running PIAA Mirror orange for the 7440 and just put in some V-leds for the 194's. I've had the PIAAs on for about 6 months with no issues. We'll have to wait and see how long the V-leds last for

I got the PIAAs from some Amazon store

i have PIAA's in my turn signals right now. they burnt out after 1.5 years. same with every other PIAA bulb i've ever had. for the price they charge, i'm never going with PIAA again.

i want the same brand for the 7440 and 194/168 bulbs so the color matches better. i want both to be amber!

Another ghetto but effective option is to just take the OEM bulbs and give em a light coating of "chrome" spray paint. I did it to my OEM 7440 bulbs before doing the 7443 retrofit. Since both bulbs sit behind a diffuser, you won't be able to tell the difference(assuming you are replacing the blinker and sidemarker bulbs). Total cost <$5.

Which chrome paint did you use? I guess it'd have to be a super light coat so as to not reduce output, eh?

I need new turn signal bulbs, anyway. I've also been meaning to do the 7443 conversion. Didn't Paul write up a DIY for that? If not, how did you do it?

Yes, very light coating, you don't even need a full layer, just like 90% coverage or so, you won't be able to seen any amber once its behind the clear diffuser. Any chrome paint should work, I think I used a duplicolor one, just make sure you wipe the bulb down with rubbing alcohol beforhand. Here is what they look like using this method.

I did the 7443 retrofit similar to Paul's DIY. You need to source an 03-05 headlight harness to get the 7443 socket. Then just wire it up like in Paul's DIY.
