Gonna Try My Hand at an 04 Retrofit

Alright, so I just received the 04 headlights I bought off Andrew (member here). My plan is to retrofit the **** out of these things but I just realized I have no idea what I'm doing. There's a lot of info out there, lots of "here's my lights" posts.

Question really is, what all do I need? I know I need patience, but what else? How many ballasts will I need? Where do I put them? What's the best lens to replace that ugly orange dot? Will I be using the stock plug to power them or do I need to do any rewiring on the car side? Am I over thinking this? Tell me where to start.

Have fun removing the orange lens. It doesnt pop out at all. The whole plastic assembly is a solid orange piece with parts of it chrome plated. I kinda broke mine and was going to glue 2.5" projector lenses in there, but then decided to cut the housing up to accommodate actual 2.5" projectors for 3000K hid fogs. My switchback halo's will act as a turn signal. I feel the projector blinker mod is overplayed at this point. If you wanna swap idea's, I'm all ears. Currently in the middle of my 6-projector retrofit. Finding less time to work on it lately

I'm building info as I'm learning, but I know the orange blinker isn't a walk in the park. I found some 06 housing on my local CL for CHEAP so I may just try to fit those in and dremel out the side strip area. It's literally just the internal chrome housings so I would only need to dremel out the side light part (and of course maybe some other minor fitment issues)

My biggest hunt right now is some BMW clear blinker lenses, and then I need some new clear side strip lenses. I think I may have to buy some cheap eBay lights, steal the side strip lenses and then go from there. If you know a source for any of the internal lenses, im all ears.

Next, (cuz I just have no experience) I'm thinking of going mini moris, but I know the s2k and tsx lenses are known to be the best..but how much better? I don't mind spending more if it's worth it, but I'm not exactly an aficionado either. I just know the look I'm after. The mini moris look GREAT to me..how much better could the tsx be? Is it just that little bit better for those few who are REALLY into it or is it actually THAT noticeable?

I use minis and the output is pretty good. You'll need 4 ballast if you decide to do a quad. Not to familiar with the coupes lights but mines wasn't too hard

i looked at a ton of reviews and found the Morimoto mini D2S is pretty much on par with the oem applications. I bought 2 sets of the square ones and ran them without shrouds for a couple months. low beam output from only 1 set was about the same as my oem hids. hit the brights and light up all 4 and holy **** im sure the space station could see it. fukking brighter than daylight.

Can I use the ballast that is already on my 06 so I wouldn't only have to buy one set of ballast not two? I'm using 04 headlights to go on 06 coupe
