Wheel alignment and tire rotations. How long does the dealer take?

Doesn't really belong here but I thought I get faster replies. Anyways, tomorrow morning at 8, I'm gonna get these services done to my car, along with an oil change. I know the oil change can take up to 45 minutes( ) but don't know about the other two. Reason I ask is I will not have a ride back home, and will have to wait at the dealership. But then again, if they take too long I will probably go at a later date(too much crap to do).

depends if they take your car in right away. If they do, it shouldnt take more than 2 hours. The oil change and rotation can be finished in 30 minutes (working time) and the alignment in another 30-40 (working time) depending on how good the mechanic is. But once again, those numbers are just working time, not waiting time to get the car in the bay and up on a rack.

Dealer always gives me a loaner, even if it's just in for an oil change!

2 hours is right, but ... Woah on the estimates. You're counting on the mechanic busting tail to get it done.

You *can* get an oil change and r&b done in 30 minutes, but that's if he's movin'. I would count on both of those together taking at least 45 minutes. How far away is the balancing machine, did he have to drain any oil catchers, who stole his 21mm impact socket.....

Anyway, depending on the initial alignment specs it may take only 45 minutes, or it could take longer. Caster and camber are more of a PITA than toe, imo.

But yeah, once it gets on the rack, I would bet on 2 hours. From the time you show up, I would be on the entire morning. lol

Just got back from the dealership(nissan). Decided to make an appointment for Monday since they have a bunch of people. Anyways, the guy said I only need the tire rotation, and the wheel balance at 15,000 miles, so it looks like I will only get the Tire rotations and oil change on Monday.

If you have the pilot Sports, more like alignment, oil change, and tire REPLACEMENT at 15,000

I didn't think you can rotate tires on these cars The rear wheels are bigger so you could only rotate side to side so that won't do too much, and most tires that people use are rotational tires so they can only rotate one direction.

Coupes and Sedans are staggered.

Service Advisor writes you up 15-20min
Porter takes vehicle to tech 1-5min
If tech is not busy
Rack up vehicle, Oil Change, Inspection 10-15min (some infiniti dealers have "lube techs" they'll take a little longer since they're hourly)
Tire rotation?? not necessary? but it wont take any longer to do since the tech can do it while the oil is draining.

Alignment.. about 30min for minor adjustments +few min if needed

then the porter has to take the car to the wash or wash the car (Which I hope you decline)

The advisor has to bring your paper work to the time keepers so the tech can be paid and paper work can be processed.

Then to the cashiers.. then the advisor has to find u.. and yay
- Eric
