I've had a male and a female Samoyed in the past. The female was pretty yappy, but the male was quiet most of the time, and had a good bass to his voice when he barked. The downside to the male was he could really pull. These are sled dogs, and I was only 11 at the time, and he could EASILY knock me down if he wanted to. I doubt they can knock down an adult in the dry, but don't be surprised if you get taken down on a snowy day when you don't have the kind of grip in your shoes required to stop a charging sled dog.

A little bit of power isn't bad, I'm 6' 175lbs so I'll be alright with one of them I just don't need a Mastiff putting his paws on my shoulders and pushin' me through a wall lol

If you have the ferrets in the house with the dog I would stay away from any pointers, hunting bred dogs. They might not bother them at all, but it's a chance I wouldn't take.

Pointers are amazingly energetic dogs, they have a lot of energy and can run for days. Might be too much for an inside dog. My husband hunts with our Choc. Lab and his friends pointers will run circles around him. They never tire! It's an energy that is awesome when you hunt, we're looking at a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon as an addition in 2010 when a friend has a litter.

The Italian Greyhound is a perfect combination of energy and size. They are ready to go when you want to running and playing or they love to just cuddle and relax also. A girl in our office building brings her two to work with her quite a bit. She walks them at lunch and then they just curl up on the bed under her desk or her lap all afternoon. Great family dogs.

Yea I am very interested in this IG. I am just worried he will see one of the Ferrets and run after it like a rabbit...

I like everything else about the IG.

Doberman, German Shepard, Husky...

I have a German Shepard (14 years old). Extremely loyal and smart. I also have a small dog (which I have no idea what it is ). Very energetic and loyal.

I'd love to have a doberman too.
