You can look at it like that... but as much as I dislike Verizon, they do offer a good service, and they continue to do so after all these years without sacrificing customer service too much. That really speaks a lot for any big company in an economy like this.

I just don't like how they must have their own interface on every single one of their products... it's not for quality assurance... it's more so you have to buy your phone through them to use their service. And they do have a good reason for that too. If you bought the phone elsewhere, it might not meet certain standards or work with the network as intended and the customer might be unhappy with the service. Which can be understandable if they actually had a decent selection of phones and none of them were ever rushed to the market (granted, the selection has been getting better lately)

the crippling part gets annoying but after some time you get used to

one thing i have noticed is that on smartphones verizon rarely blocks anything

example the tour ive played with sprints and verizon and i couldnt tell the diffrance in phone, service was another story

What is the early termination fee?

Also, are you working for corporate? Verizon is a huge company and i know i'd be excited to be in the office.

EFT starts at 175 and it drops down by $5 every month of service you complete

I've been a Verizon user for quite a few years. I've always had the new every two for $100 off towards my next phone. All of a sudden it has changed to $50 and I haven't changed my plan. Now, can I somehow argue or get the $100 rather than the $50?

They base the NE2 credit on your plan now so if your on a basic 39.99 plan you will only get $50 and to get a $100 i think you have to be on a plan that is higher then 59.99 (I Think, not sure could be a higher tier plan) So even thought you didnt change your plan verizon changed there rules for the NE2 credits

Well that sucks since my plan is 59.99. Does it state anywhere in the contract that the new every 2 can change without notice? If not, then wouldn't I be able to argue that matter and obtain that $100 credit? Just curious, tis all.

You might be able to, some people will bend the rules for you one time in this case. Its also looks like they dropped the credits down to $30-50 off depending on when you signed up and your price plan

Geez, that really blows. I've been putting off getting a new phone for a while. I really like something like that EnV...too bad I spilled NyQuil on it by accident and took off insurance a couple months prior.

NE2 are now $50

the reason being is that they say you can still get a pretty good phone with $50 and the rebate

i think its dumb but o well atleast now they let you upgrade every year if your a primary with discounted pricing

What do you think is going to happen when the next iPhone comes out....Droid can't do.
Android can't catch up on what? Sales? Apps?

Because if all you care about is how well a piece of electronic sells...lol@you.

Now in terms of an actual phone/multimedia/internet/social device, Android is right up there with the Iphone OS and is only gonna get better with Android 2.0 right around the corner. I mean, come on, it's backed up by Google(which happens to power some preinstalled iphone apps *cough*)

The only thing holding it back is the hardware, especially the slow as molasses 528mhz Qualcomm cpu found in all current Android phones(and the ****ty BB Storm). But it looks like things are about to change with the release of Droid and upcoming Android phones which will use the same A8 cpu as the 3GS or the blazing fast Snapdragon cpu.

I'm gonna hold out for a Snapdragon powered phone.

whats sucks here in cali is that when they tax the phone, they tax it on the full retail price not the discounted price
