Thanks, I really appreciate it! I'm not allowed to download dropbox or mesh to my work computer, so once I get home and get it all sorted out I'll let you know how I like it!

Smugmug kills the rest. Then again, it's an overkill unless you are hosting high resolution/quality images.

I have iPhoto on my laptop and I LOVE it. I wish I could have it on my windows computers! Picasa is the closest I have gotten to that... However 1) My Macbook won't turn on and 2) my work computer and my home desktop are PCs.

What is mobileme? Something that works with iPhoto?

oh damn, sux you havent been able to get it working

MobileMe is a service from apple, its $99 a year and it lets you sync info thru out your devices, say contacts. if i add a contact to my iPhone, it automatically updates my address book at home. same thing if you have 2 macs and you change the settings on one, it will change the other computers setting for you

you also get 20+gigs of server space, you save anything you want on there. it will mount like a folder. so i you choose to sync your iPhoto w/ MobileMe, all the albums you synced will show up on your MobileMe site, so you can share w/ others

one last feature, that I use, there are more, is find my iPhone, its tells you were your iPhone is at all times and lets you wipe the info and forever lock it if someone steals it

Will your work not pay or reimburse you for the fees??

Most of the prices per year arent to much

photobucket is like $2 a month. for unlimited storage

I'm hoping to get my macbook up and running soon, I bought a hard drive dock so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all my stuff isn't lost forever. I just haven't had the time to take it apart yet to get the hard drive out.

That mobileme sounds similar to how my Droid works as far as the phone goes - it syncs all my contacts (and I think pictures too) to my gmail and can track/wipe your phone if it gets stolen. And syncing with other computers is pretty cool, I'll have to look into that. I kind of wish I had that before my computer shut down so I'd still have all my photos and music. I wonder how fast I could fill up 20GBs....

Well it's not for work, it's for personal use. I'm just sick of photobucket. The layout/user interface is terrible and it just seems so messy and disorganized when I log in. I just use it when I need to generate IMG tags to post pics on forums. I don't really need the IMG tag feature, which is why I was looking into Picasa and Flickr. Picasa doesn't have a bulk uploader (unless it's somewhere that I'm not looking??) so you can only upload 5 at a time (sucks), and apparently Flickr limits you to x amount of photos.

I downloaded dropbox to my home computer but I already have 80% of the 2GB storage full. Also, the dropbox interface doesn't show thumbnail images (unless I haven't found that option yet) so you have to click on each file to see what it is.

Am I being too picky? lol

i think you need to consider sometype of offline storage in addition to a online solution. it sounds like you're combining the two, which you can tell is goint to get really expensive. get two big hard drives and store everything on them (one to backup the other), and then publish your work to whichever online sharing site you like.

It's not that you're being too picky, the services are available. I think you're being picky for free services.
