M56??????

Okay maybe M55 would sound better, but wouldn't that be a hot car. I know the critics love the current V8, but they could squeeze some more sales out of the current body style with the 5.6L V8. Providing it fits.

BTW....I hope this is not a repost....

i dont really see the point in putting the 5.6... they're better off putting a twin turbo v6. Better gas mileage, lighter weight, much more power.

Performance factory just put the Titan V8 in a G coupe so I bet it would fit in the M no problem.

Both the 4.5 and the 5.6 are VK motors and if the M already accepts the 4.5 then the 5.6 shouldn't require too much fab work if any. The 5.6 is a bored and stroked version of the 4.5 so the exterior dimensions are mostly unchanged.

Forget the 5.6 though. We all know what motor will end up under the hood of the next gen V8 M. The 390hp 5.0L VK50VE from the '09 FX.

yeah, i don't see why VK56 won't fit into G35, Chris Forsberg from Formula D is rocking it

VK56 can even fit into 240sx with some transmission tunnel fab.
You can't beat the linear powerband and the torque out from a large displacement NA V8.

Would you have to tune it differently or something.

I personally wouldn't want a motor from a big truck in my sports car.
