I had to shave part of my latch down so it could catch more of the actual hood lock. Also, I changed out the larger OEM latch spring to a smaller one, didn't require much force to actually be able to close the hood.
Last thing I did was elongated the holes of the hood mounting brackets, so I could "scoot" my hood down more in order for it to close the gap between my grill and hood.

Yeah, I ended up just cutting the latch off. The resin holding it started to chip and that's when I installed hood pins and just said screw the latch. Prior to that I did shave the latch - but never thought about shaving the mounting holes up near the window.
I don't think the fitment was near as bad as the HD hoods. Though, it seems, I did get one of the worst fitting (and low quality weave) Seibon hoods I've come across.
