Just a couple's de-ricing coupe

So hello fellow G owners. My name is Daphne and long story short my boyfriend traded his sr20 s14 240sx for this here '03.

It rides terrible because it has those blue ebay lowering springs from m2 performance. It squeeks and bounces, needs an alignment.. etc. And we aren't too fond of the spacers and replica te37 wheels either. Or the grill. Or the ebay headlights. Or the no-name exhaust.

Did an oil change, replaced spark plugs, and changed the interior dome lights from obnoxious red to regular led white.

Anyway, I sold my Miata to buy my brother's Vh45de z32 300zx, so Freddy still has a drift car to learn in at local events. Its a fun Infiniti V8, fully caged and tubed front and rear chassis.

He drifted the car for the first time on the 17th of October in Jacksonville Fl where we live, at a track called Green Cove Dragway. Where he also ran over a gopro:

Okay back to the G; one of the first things we were able to do was trade this ugly neochrome intake for a 350z oem one. Looks so much more clean. If you havent noticed, thats what we are aiming for.

We also traded those black rep wheels for stock G wheels but they were super beat up and curb rashed. Got them powder coated and they look absolutely brand new. (Done by River City Powder Coatings in Jacksonville Fl)

But while those were being sandblasted and coated, we got oem 350z suspension and put the drift car wheels on the G.
Heres how she sits at the moment, but we are ordering brand new tires we mount on the stocks, and there will be less gap because the tires on the drift wheels are stretched and not the sizes that factory calls for.

Stay tuned

Cool thread. Not very often you see someone tastefully de-modding a car, almost could call it a "Re-Build" thread.

300ZX looks like a lot of fun. Not sure about the pink rims on the G. But I realize it is temporary.

Powder coat job on the wheels looks great, what kind of finish is that? Looks like a lot of metal flake. Looks good.

Looking forward to more.

The powder coating turned out great. How much was the job if you don't mind me asking?

Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to more updates

So you de-riced the coupe by adding pink wheels and mirror tints?

Factory wheels (they look great) and exhaust? That's not de-ricing Daphne, just very close to boring!

I'm going to assume the pink Mustang wheels are temporary.

The aftermarket exhaust doesnt even fit properly.. it even melted the rear bumper (previous owners fault) and the flex pipe is broken so it sounds like garbage.
anyways got the wheels on with new tires and a alighnment at nissan (friend works there) and magically after new parts a wheel bearing goes bad..and the squeaky noise when turning is coming from the rack. Not the expected balljoints .anyways heres a picture of the wheels on.. centercaps were paint matched and installed later on.
and got oem lug nuts for free! No more ebay spline drive bullshit ones
so this is what it ended up with
vert 350z suspension /stock g wheels
225/45 front
245/45 rear

And this is what the 240 looked like.
stock body
18inch square g6 wheels
sr20
topmount garrett 2871r turbo
tial external wastegate

Attempting to get a stock exhaust. 06 headlights. Brand new front and rear bumpers. A grill. Repaint it black. And cruiseee!

Be patient with the 06 lights. You can find killer deals sometimes. Keep checking here and CL for trade + cash deals. Someone here recently was selling some for $350 + your lights. I got mine off CL for $250 + trade. They don't have to be 700-1k.

The Projectors can be had for that cheap, IF you have OEM reflectors to trade someone, i have yet to find someone willing to trade my crappy ebay headlights (same style as yours just black housings) you may end up biting the bullet and paying the 700 for a nice set of projectors.
