Magnaflow Axle Back

The Magnalflow Street Series 14815 has a center inlet while the OEM muffler has a Offset Inlet, due to this he had to cut off 10inches from my Coupe Midpipe

I asked him to use the OEM hanger locations

I also got it Painted black to stealth out the pipe a bit but I don't think anyone can see it while I am driving, he also welded the ground onto it like OEM, he said it does not really matter but put it on anyhow since its easy enough.

Watch in 720P for best sound quality

Street Driving sound testing

I did the same route in both videos, I drove 30miles highway before I got off the exit, so both of them are at there normal operating temp.

OEM

On the Highway I got 73dB avg it pretty much stayed that way even at WOT from 65-80mph
Revving it in the garage maxed at 83dB's

Magnaflow

On the highway, I got the same 73db avg, but at WOT from 65-80mph I got a reading of 78dB, that's +5dB over stock
Revving in the garage maxed at 87dB's +4dB's over stock

You left out some very important details!

1.) Where did you get muffler
2.) How much was muffler + Installation
3.) How do you like it? Drone?
4.) Is your exhaust actually a little louder or is it same just deeper.
5.) I WANT TO GET THIS DONE!! lol
6.) I am waiting for a drive by sound clip out of the car

1. The shop ordered it for me they are a Magnaflow Distributor
2. No idea how much the muffler was alone, but it was 250 + Tax
3. Waiting for break in before I comment
4. Its louder but not too much, I need someone to drive it for me to hear exactly, its deeper from OEM
5. !!
6. Coming soon

Sounds good, Magnaflow muffler is prob next for me now that I know a part #, thanks. Whats your EVO doing there on the dash? I see numbers fluctuating.

Have you considered deleting the mid-pipe?

Its in the OP 14815, Its a Droid X and that's the little decibel meter app, its not calibrated but it can easily show the differences. Yes but I think it would create too much drone.

is there a reason you didnt order the muffler on your own? Was it cheaper to have the shop order it for you and install? I am just wondering because i am want to get this done as well and wondering if I should order the muffler myself or have the shop thats doing install do it?

EDIT: Whoa just looked up the muffler and it alone is $200 dollars you got a great deal means you paid 50 dollars in labor! Man I am going to get raped on this because I know a shop here in vegas wont do this for under 80 dollars in labor and the part alone is 200 so i am looking at 300-350 for this done!

I'm gonna have to check that app out. Yeah I ask about the mid because another user on here had his knocked out, paired with the Megan muffler and swears the sound can cause spontaneous O-faces. Rasp isn't an issue, but I suspect the same thing, too much drone. Great vids though thanks for making my mind up for me.

Sounds great! What is that whine at 0:13? I hear that sometimes on my car as well. Waiting on drive by, but so far sounds good! Oh and since you've now heard the HKS and MF in person, how would you compare the two?

^ It does but I would like to update you guys on the droneing.

The drone is not too bad most of the time but its there, and for me with an AT the RPM range stays in the drone zone if I give it too much gas while accelerating i there is some really bad drone.

I am going to reassess back in 500 miles to see for break in if it helps.

It seems the coupe middy is causing alot of it, Ill try my Sedan MP in the future if my coupe middy deems too annoying.

45mph+ in 5th gear is good hardly any drone.
